A staying experience like no other. 

The Other House blurs the lines between hotels, serviced apartments, and members' clubs. Each club will showcase the best in British design across several sustainable, smart, spaces including restaurants, bars, spas, & club flats.

Offering guests full control over their stay with smart integrations including door access, room control, 'busy' times for members' spaces, lift calling, and energy usage.

Over several phases, we took the concept from idea - to execution working with the uber talented DS teams to bring the brand to life across the app experience.

Discovery + UX

Initially working to help define the app experience, the output from the initial discovery phase was the above artifact, a user journey map, documenting the key moments across the life cycle of use. Opportunities for branded in-app moments were also identified, which allowed the brand to come to life, at special moments. 
 
This was followed by a wireframing phase, where we explored many layout configurations and decided how best to surface interactions with the physical spaces. In-app features, including ordering in bars & restaurants, room service, scheduling services, door access, call lifts, room lights, and climate control.

Working closely with the design team at DS, I helped bring the brand to life through the app.

The beautiful branding was a huge part of inspiring to both interface and interaction, and was a joy to work with.

Partnering with DesignStudio Digital Director Jordan, to help then bring the final UX vision to life across the various in-app features, including ordering in bars & restaurants, room service, scheduling services, door access, call lifts, room lights, and climate control.

For functional areas of the app, we dialed back the branding and, for certain hero moments, we leaned in and allowed the brand to be expressive, especially playing with the beautiful typography.

After wrapping up the app, I was asked to stay and work on the brochure and booking site. Browse and explore the decedent spaces across The Other House, book spaces at its restaurant spaces, or book a stay in one of the club flats.

A glossy and rich brochure site unpacks all aspects of the Resident Club concept and offers a window into the world of The Other House.
